Thrilled with my door, but I have a question Message Body: I installed my dog door a few months ago. I purchased the “new construction” model so that I would have full customization to match my existing appearance inside and out. I have been thrilled with the results. I had nearly gone wit a very overpriced brand with a double vinyl flap system and aluminum tunnel. I didn’t have any faith in that, but it was so he best I could find. Then I found Ranger. It’s exactly what I was looking for. The thick frame is sturdy and doesn’t transmit heat/cold – perfect. The heavy but flexible fabric flap – perfect. The strong magnet system – perfect. I have no concerns about cracking. I live in Nebraska and we have extremes from -20 to 105. In our current polar vortex, we’ve had consecutive days with highs of -5 and lows of -20. The Ranger has remained flexible and stood up to 60+ mph winds and blowing snow. It seals tighter than all the exterior doors in my house. It was worth spending a little extra for quality and features. I’m really pleased with my investment. Thank you for making such a great product. I do have one question. How long does the flap typically last? Mine faces southwest and is blasted by the hot sun for many hours in the summer afternoons.
