02.19.25 – This is one of the few reviews I have written. I live in Michigan with a 142 lb. Rottie, Mr. Dior, and love the fact that this is made in USA and on top of it, Michigan.

This XL dog door, that for my installation goes directly outside, has been great. This is our 2nd year installed and have not had an issue with it other than 1 small weather related item, which I’ll explain later.

We have a fenced in yard and he’s able to go in and out as he pleases, especially when he gets the zoomies or wants to howl at the moon. The customer service has been great. The first door arrived damaged due to UPS; however, Ranger was great in replacing it without any issues within 2 days. I’m not very handy with installation so I had a family member install it that works in construction. He indicated it was fairly straight forward.

I did have an issue this year with the door sticking a little bit. I attribute it to the extremely cold weather we are having and maybe some condensation build up (just guessing). I emailed customer service who offered an easy solution.

The other item was initially getting Mr. Dior to use the door. He’s a little timid, so I think it took him a little longer to be comfortable with the door. He doesn’t like change very well. Again, I used the suggestions by the manufacturer.

I do wish they would sell a see through flap; however, due to the size of the door, that may be prohibitive and easily damaged. Will probably have to replace the current flap at some point, but to date it is holding up well.

I’ll be honest, the price threw me for a bit; however, I ‘ve seen some other doors that don’t hold up well at all and due to the size of Mr. Dior, this has certainly been worth the price.

Would definitely recommend.
